Our mission at Franklin Street Brewing Company is to produce exceptional, handcrafted beers. We also want to be good stewards of the environment so we can enjoy every pint knowing we’re doing our part to reduce waste, reuse when we can and recycle everything that’s recyclable.
In doing our part to protect the environment, we recently received a GOLD certification from the Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s Iowa Green Brewery Program. We couldn’t be happier to receive this recognition!
Some of the steps we’ve taken to receive GOLD is the reuse of all our chilling water for cooling the wort as it travels from the boil kettle to the fermenter; all of the lights in the brewery are LED; we donate all our spent grain to a local farmer to feed his cows and chickens; all of our equipment, where possible, is energy star rated and on and on. These are just a few of the steps we’re taking to help protect our environment.
We operate with sustainable, socially equitable and environmentally friendly standards so every glass of Franklin Street beer is enhanced by being good stewards of the environment. At Franklin Street Brewing Company, sustainability is in every glass.
